A Quick Share and New Creative Charms

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, or holiday. We visited with family on Christmas and yesterday. My kids got to play with their cousin Bobby who lives in Virginia. He and Ethan even got to snowboard a little.

Everyone was very happy with what they got for Christmas. It was an electronic sort of Christmas for us. Ethan got his Flip camera to video skateboarding stuff, Emma got her purple iPod Nana, Daddy got a GPS for the car (he just loves his new toy, I did good!) and I got an iPod Touch. I love that thing. I figured out yesterday how to get my email on it, so that's way cool for when I'm out of the office. Plus, of course, all the fun "apps".

Here's a layout I did a while back. These photos were taken the second day we had Pearl. She was sooo happy. I submitted the layout to CK and SBetc, but it didn't get picked up. It was super quick to do. I put the title right on the photo in photoshop. I placed all the photos on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet and printed it out, then just cut it in half. The paper is Sassafras. The shaped journal card is My Little Shoebox.

Here's a close up of the flowers, they're Prima, the cloth brad is Little Yellow Bicycle.

And in this close up on the journaling card, I added some Creative Charms Pearl Stickers.

Speaking of Creative Charms, I was sent a package with some of their new CHA winter lines coming out. I love the gradient brads. I'm working on their new catalog for CHA, it's a tight deadline, and I'm still waiting on some new products to be shipped. But, it's always fun to do.

You can now order the Creative Charms goodies at Addicted to Scrapbooking. Check it out, lots of embellishments. My favorites are the crocheted flowers, felt embellies and their gradient jewel and pearl stickers. Oh, I almost forgot, their vintage brads are to die for!! I don't think Addicted to Scrapping carries the vintage brads yet, but we just started with them, so look for those to be added.

Hope you have a great week. I want to get scrappy at some point this week. I have some new goodies that I ordered, and haven't even touched. AND I picked up a new Martha Stewart punch at Mikes on Sunday. Now that the busy holidays are over I hope I can get to play.

Hope you have a scrappy day!!

Christmas Dance and Chipboard Freebies

I know these chipboard elements aren't super fancy, but I was playing and thought I'd share. There's a reindeer, the word NOEL, Believe and 3 ornaments, all on a single png file that you can use the lasso tool to copy to your layout.

Here is the link to the Holiday Chipboard Elements.

I also wanted to share a photo of my dd in her Christmas dance dress. Seriously, it feels like yesterday that she was running around in a Snow White dress 24/7 and playing princess. She's still my princess!

I think this is the last year for that Christmas tree... it's on it's last legs... or should I say trunk?

Oh, you've got to check out Andrea's blog. She made some cards using my houndstooth and polka dot paper! I was so excited. They are adorable!

Have a great day! Hope you get all your baking and shopping and wrapping all done so you can relax and enjoy the day!

How about bracket paper?

I did this baroque bracket paper (at least it looks like baroque paper to me!). I've done a jpeg and a png in case you would like to layer it on some cardstock paper. The PNG doesn't have a background color, it's see thru.

Here's the link to the Baroque Bracket Paper.

Last 2 Paper Freebies

Just a quickie post today... I need to get ready for a fun Christmas lunch with a client. I can't wait. The rest of my day is pretty busy. My son has his Christmas play and my daughter has a Christmas dance to go to. Do you know how hard it is to find decent shoes for a 13 year old? If they don't want to wear flats, the heels are 4 inches high. We wasted so much time looking for shoes. She's just going to wear my flats... she really wanted something with a small heel. Apparently they don't make any except ugly grandma looking shoes, and there is no way is she walking around in hoochie mama high heels.

Here are the last 2 papers I made for you. Solids and Stripes.

Four sheets of stripes:

And 5 sheets of solid papers:

Enjoy the papers. Have a great day!!

What you can do with free paper, and more free paper...

I took a few sheets of the paper I created, printed it out on my favorite ink jet paper, which is Staples brand Photo Supreme double-sided matte paper. It's 61 lb. weight, so it's somewhat heavy, but still goes thru my ink jet printer. I set my printer settings to brochure paper. It prints out really well. I even use this paper when I want to print vintage photos, so they're not shiny.

I placed 2 different patterned papers on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, because I knew I wouldn't need a whole sheet of each pattern.

I made 2 cards with the blue papers.

Here is the first card, using the polka dot paper and the plaid paper... ignore the really horrid sewing (the foot pedal to the Purple Pixie sewing machine broke!):

A close up:

Card number 2, I used 3 patterns, the blue polka dots, which I crimped, the plaid w/distressed edges, then I punched out a circle of the tan houndstooth and inked the edge. The felt mitten is from American Crafts. Jewel is from Creative Charms:

Close up:

I think I'll hand deliver the last one, it's kinda bulky.

The nice thing about using digi papers is that you can make as many as you need to send. Plus, if you goof up cutting a piece, you can just print out another.

I suppose these cards are hybrid since I used digi paper.

Today's free paper is snowflakes... fancy snowflakes... hope you like them, I think the red is really pretty:

This past weekend my daughter and I went to see the local production of The Nutcracker performed by The Laurel Ballet here in town. Em's best friend Jade danced as a snowflake and the dew drop fairy. It was a wonderful production.

Here's Jade as the fairy:

And, Jade is here to the far right as the snowflake:

Tonight we're meeting Jade and her mom to shop for their Christmas Dance dresses. I love doing all these fun Christmasy things!

Have a great day... let me know if you got creative with my papers, I'd love to see what you made.

Happy Holidays - Freebie

Hi y'all!!

As promised I have some holiday freebies for you. I've been working on these for about 2 weeks. I did everything in adobe illustrator, and had a blast making all these neat patterns to share. I did take them into photoshop and added a little grunge factor.

First up, I have the very first pattern that I made, Houndstooth! I just love, love, love Houndstooth and was so excited when I learned how to make it.

I have five different 12x12, 300 dpi jpeg papers for you to enjoy:

Here is the link to download.

Now remember, this is just for personal use only. If you use it, please give credit if you can, and also don't try to sell it, because karma will come back to bite ya in the butt!

I also made some coordinating journaling cards. You can either use them on a digi scrapbook page, OR just print them out on an 8 1/2 x 11 page, trim to size, and even use a corner rounder if you like to add to your traditional scrapbook pages.

Here is the link to download the journaling cards.

I hope you enjoy these Holiday Goodies. There will be more to come, so stop back!!

Have a scrappy day!!

18 More Shopping Days!

or baking days, or wrapping days, or crafting days!!

Is December going fast or what? I have sooooo much going on, as I'm sure, you all do, too.

Friday my friend Carol came over and we made cookies, cookies and yet, more cookies. I survived 12 hours of cookie making!! I'd post a photo, but right after I took the photos off from my project below, the battery died, so I'll have to do that later.

I still need to bake my nut rolls and Kolache. I'm Slovak, so, it's gotta be done! Tradition, love tradition.

Rather than scrapbooking lately, I've been crafting. I found this paper maché star at the craft store a few weeks ago, and thought it would look pretty with some pretty scrap paper on it. I used Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses line, and I love how it turned out.

BG Star

I took jump rings and attached the Santa to the Merry & Bright chipboard piece. He's cute and dangly! (I'm pretty sure dangly isn't a word! LOL)

Used a little ornament brad to attached the Merry & Bright to the star.
BG star Cu

And here I just added the chipboard strand of lights for some height, and a few sprigs of "stuff" and a little birdie. It was really quick (aside from glue drying time) and easy to make.

BG star Cu2

That's it for today. I need to make my list and check it twice!! Much to do, and only 18 days left to do it. Amazing how we all manage to get it done.

Have a great Monday!!

New Christmas Tradition

I'm sure this tradition isn't new for a lot of people, but for us, we just started it last year. We started the new PJ's for Christmas tradition. My mother-in-law likes to buy them for us, so hey, I'm not gonna complain! When she was here for Thanksgiving, she gave me a check to buy the PJ's for this year.

I did a layout of us in our new PJ's from last Christmas. I used older Christmas paper, which I have a ton of. Note to self ~ stop buying so much Christmas paper!!

See the Joy Ticket? I made those last year as a downloadable freebie for Christmas. This year I'm working on some papers. I'm playing with patterns and having fun with some vintage images, so stay tuned for an upcoming holiday freebie! I will also have a few SVG/PNG files to share for cutting or using in a digi project.

Have a creative day!!
